Sara Evans has only had only one dream in her life she has always wanted to compose and perform country music. Evans told John Meroney, of American Enterprise: "God placed me there in order to be a singer." "It's what I am passionate about to do, more than anything else which is why I'm determined to achieve it." Evans was also determined to become popular by going back to traditional country music, which was popularized by legends such as Patsy Cline and Hank Snow. She was also influenced by George Jones, Tammy Wynette as well as Patty Loveless. Evans, who was born in the year 1970, made her mark in the late 90s, when many country music aspiring performers turned to contemporary pop songs. That is evident on her 1997 debut album, True Lies. However, despite the critical acclaim and an award from the Academy of Country Music in 1998 for being the top female singer, True Lies made little significant impact. Evans was persuaded to change the repertoire for No Place That Far in 1999 by producers. This gave her the public recognition she'd wanted for a long time. Sara Evans was born February 5, 1971, at Columbia, Missouri. Sara Evans grew up in the company of six other siblings.
